This past weekend I had the privilege of capturing one of my favorite families. Last time I was with this kiddos they were shorter than me and still had that childish look. Now the two brothers tower over me and this sweet girl has a personality that is so fun to be around. Not to mention their new dog. This pup loved being in front of the camera so much she would find a place to sit and look directly at me without even giving her a command.
In home sessions like this one can be one of the most fun. When a client asks me to come to their home it can be a challenge to find the right spot and the right light but the return when you work through it can be amazing. Not only are the kids and family a little more relaxed but the memories of that time are in every part of the image. A true capture of the moment.
It is also helpful on strange weather days when we can make a quick trip into the snow and wind to capture a memorable family shot. And having the color of the leaves, brick and stone...I was so excited.
Another plus is the ability to include all members of the family. And not even miss a moment of the Bill's game. I swear we did this between plays.
And all of it always comes down to capturing the faces and those eyes. Each persons eyes always tell me something different and I am always enchanted capturing them. Of course these kids could model for me for days. The looks I got from them are a photographers dream.
But them being comfortable and having fun was the best.
Even a true smile can be coaxed out by some goofy antics behind me. (Probably better I don't know. But I have received a lot of bunny ears in my career.)
And there is always the time to capture that one photograph that screams they are growing up.
Thank you to a beautiful, wonderfully fun and welcoming family. I love when I leave a session and feel like I was just visiting some friends.
